The fire-fighters who battled the massive blaze which ravaged through the Bank of Lisbon building in the Johannesburg CBD three weeks ago, will on Thursday give their first-hand account of what exactly happened on that fateful day.
Three fire-fighters lost their lives while trying to extinguish the blaze.
The fire-fighters, together with their unions Demawusa and SAFTU, will holding a press conference in Johannesburg at midday.
Demawusa’s Stephen Faulkener says:”Now they believe the time is right for their side of the story to be aired into the public arena and so they have called this press conference with the help of their union and at the Oress conference. They will be giving their side of the story.”
“Not just about the terrible fire that happened in downtown Johannesburg but also about the state of the fire service as a whole and what needs to be done to fix it.”
