Inquest docket opened after body found on Table Mountain.

Western Cape Police say an inquest docket has been opened after the body of a woman was found on Table Mountain.

Sakina Grimwood (32) from Newlands had been missing since Wednesday. She was a lecturer at Varsity College.

Mountain rescue teams used a helicopter to retrieve her body.

Police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana says a tour guide found her body near a steep cliff at Platteklip Gorge.

“According to information the body was found yesterday afternoon on Table Mountain. A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”
