A 49-year-old man accused of assaulting and pointing a firearm at a teenage boy in Groblersdal in Limpopo is appearing in the local Magistrate’s Court this morning.
Cornelius Pretorius allegedly assaulted a teenager after an argument over a seasoning salt on the 15th of June this year.
Pretorius has been granted R20 000 bail by the High Court in Polokwane earlier this week after the local Magistrate’s Court had denied him bail.
The incident has been widely circulated on social media. The accused was apparently seen stomping and assaulting the boy.
He also allegedly pointed a firearm at him.
The incident has raised racial tensions amongst community members in Groblersdal.
