Four children hospitalised following a near-drowning incident at Herolds Bay

Four children have been hospitalised following a near-drowning incident at Herolds Bay in George in the Southern Cape.

ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring says paramedics arrived on the scene to find the children on the beach, with their teachers providing first aid.

Medics assessed the two girls and two boys, aged between 10 and 14, and found that one had sustained moderate injuries while the three others had sustained minor injuries.

The children were treated and thereafter, transported to the George Provincial Hospital for further assessment.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known.

Meanwhile, the family of the 13-year-old Senzo Tshabalala who drowned in a ditch in Intabazwe, Harrismith, says it will sue Maluti-A-Phofung Municipality and the contractor.

Senzo drowned on Saturday while playing with friends. The family wants those responsible be held accountable.

The Tshabalala family lost their child who was doing Grade 5. The family is devastated as the dream to see their son grow old was untimely shuttered.

His mother Nthabiseng Tshabalala says those responsible must pay.
