North West police are investigating a case of murder and inquest after a father stabbed and killed his two-year-old daughter at Moshawane village, near Mahikeng on Sunday.
Spokesperson Kelebogile Moleko says the father hanged himself with a chain after the incident.
The incident came at the end of Child Protection Week with the theme “Protect Children Against Themselves”.
“Reports suggest that a father of the child took the child from her mother for a visit, he therefore stabbed the child several times on her face and all over her body and hanged himself with a chain. They were found dead yesterday at 2pm. The police were informed of the incident and the case of murder were registered for investigations.”
