Eswatini NDPP to meet AKA, Tibz murder suspects’ lawyers

Case postponed
Reading Time: 2 minutes

A meeting has been scheduled to take place today, between the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) in the Kingdom of Eswatini and the legal representative of the two men arrested in the Southern African country for the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The two were shot dead in an alleged hit outside a Durban restaurant in February last year.

Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande are also wanted for the murder of two other people in Durban between February and March last year.

The two are expected to appear at the Manzini Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Their lawyer Sivesonke Ngwenya says the matter is likely to be postponed because he might need more time to consult with his clients.

Ngwenya says, “It’s unfortunate that we haven’t as yet received the comprehensive application (extradition application) which we were expecting by close of business on Friday. Remember we went to court on Monday, that was the first court date.”

“From there we received the provisional one and we were still hoping, and anticipating that we’ll be served with the comprehensive one. So currently, I think we might, it’s possible to have even a postponement on Tuesday because we don’t want to find ourselves doing what is not appropriate due to local instructions.”
