An Economic Freedom Fighters ward councillor at Thabazimbi in Limpopo has been arrested for robbery and will appear in court at nearby Northam on Monday.

He allegedly robbed a tavern of liquor and money on Friday at Smatchblock informal settlement in Northam.

Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says more arrests are expected in connection with the robbery.
