A Bolt, formerly known as Taxify, sign is seen on the taxi car in Riga, Latvia April 9, 2019.

Uber and Bolt drivers operating in the Soweto area, say that they fear for their lives.

This comes after three vehicles were torched on Thursday night and two drivers shot at.

The incident happened at a popular Maponya shopping Mall in Pimville.

One of the e-hailing service drivers, Kabelo Makhesane, says he is still scared to go back to work after he was attacked and his vehicle was burnt on Thursday.

Makhesane says, “The cars were just passing by the circle and they were just attacked. There was one car that was torched as well. The guy was waiting for her sister who works in the mall and the car was torched and he did not know what was happening. A guy that they torched his car as well, was fetching his wife who has a store in the mall, he was shot as well. He is in hospital.”
