The case of the disbarred advocate, Malesela Teffo, has been postponed to Monday next week in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.

Fifty-three-year-old Teffo appeared in court yesterday. He is facing charges of malicious damage to property, assault, theft, and fraud.

It is alleged that Teffo was prohibited from entering an office he was renting at Protea Towers, which is the City’s property. Teffo is also believed to have accepted money from clients, despite not representing them.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) regional spokesperson, Lumka Mahanjana, says, “Two dockets were opened against him. It is alleged that he broke into an office that he was prohibited from entering and assaulted a security officer. In the second docket, he is facing a charge of fraud. It is alleged that he defrauded two complainants of an amount of R13,000 after they requested legal assistance from him. After his arrest, he failed to cooperate with the police.”
