Decomposed body of a baby found in Cape Flats

Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk says the badly decomposed body of the child was found wrapped in a plastic bag.

Cape Town police say the body of a child has been found near Mfuleni on the Cape Flats.

Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk says the badly decomposed body of the child was found wrapped in a plastic bag in a canal at the corner of Stellenbosch Arterial and Westbank main road.

He says it’s estimated that the child was about three-years-old. Van Wyk says a post mortem will be conducted to determine the gender of the child.

A murder docket has been opened for investigation.
