The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) has urged parents and community members not to put pressure on matriculants who have not passed their exams.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will announce the 2023 matric results on Thursday.

Contralesa president Kgosi Larmeck Mokoena says parents can help learners who have failed to ease stress by referring them to professionals or encouraging them to try again. He has however congratulated those who passed and wish they choose good careers.

Mokoena says, “It is that time of the year where parents and students are looking forward to the announcement of the Grade 12 results. Contralesa congratulates the class of 2023 who made it.”

“For those who did not make it this is not the end of the world, it is just a platform for you to go and try even harder. Contralesa calls on parents not to put pressure on those students who did not make it. Those who made it please make sure that you choose a career that will be beneficial not only to you but to the country as a whole,” he adds.
