Messages of congratulations are streaming in for the new Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi who hails from Tsolo in the Eastern Cape.
Tunzi was crowned as Miss South Africa 2019 at a prestigious ceremony at the Sun Area in Pretoria, on Friday.
Premier Lubabalo Mabuyane says, “Zozibini Tunzi’s victory at the highly contested Miss South Africa, taking home the 61st Miss SA crown is great news for this young woman from Tsolo, her family and a wonderful motivation to many young girls from rural areas that they too can win the Miss SA Crown and accomplish anything they pursue in life.”
“The Eastern Cape Provincial government will find ways to work with the new Miss SA in a number of projects that will be in line with the priorities of her reign and interests linked to the realisation of the developmental goals of the Eastern Cape,” Mabuyane adds.
Tunzi, who is completing her B-Tech in Public Relations, impressed the judges with her positive stance on education ahead of 15 other women who were competing for the crown.
She is taken over the crown from last year’s winner Tamaryn Green.
