The rape trial of Rivers of Living Waters church leader, Bishop Steven Zondo, resumes today in the High Court in Pretoria.
Zondo is appearing on multiple charges of rape, indecent assault and defeating the ends of justice.
On Friday last week, Zondo’s lawyer attempted to discredit the report by an expert witness Dr. Gerard Labuschagne as being irrelevant.
However, presiding Judge Papi Mosopa, ruled that Labuschagne’s testimony should be allowed as evidence.
Labuschagne testified that many complainants in the matter, some of whom were members of Zondo’s church, viewed the church leader as having a God-like status.
