Baxter remains hopeful amid Bafana crisis

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has admitted that it has been frustrating that on an eve of an important match he has not been able to start preparations with a complete squad.

A number of players arrived late in camp for various reasons while others have withdrawn from the team.

Baxter has three training sessions remaining with a complete team ahead of a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup game against Senegal on Friday.

However, the coach does not feel he’s faced with a crisis.

“The frustration is that you know it can happen, deterioration, is like some of them are injured, and then it’s not like I don’t know what I’m doing, so we know what we are doing. We know the players are here. I’m looking at it as a challenge not a problem, its better because there is proper training and we are moving in the right direction, but is it exactly how I wanted it? No it’s not,” says Baxter.
