Senior Forecaster, Lebogang Makgati, says two further cold fronts are expected later this week

The Cape Town Weather Office says isolated showers can be expected throughout the day into Tuesday.

Local Disaster Management have indicated that no major incidents of flooding were reported over the weekend or last night following rain.

Senior forecaster, Lebogang Makgati, says two further cold fronts are expected later this week.

Makgati says they don’t anticipate severe weather warnings and wind conditions will also remain moderate.

“Surrounding areas such as Paarl, Grabouw, Hermanus all the way to Ceres. We do expect these isolated showers on and off throughout the day. Tomorrow we’re still expecting isolated showers over these areas. We do expect the next rain on Thursday as another cold front makes its way through; should clear quite quickly. The next rain should again be on Saturday,” says Makgati.

The recent winter rains has been beneficial to the dams in the province with the levels slowly rising with each passing cold front. Dam levels currently stand at nearly 34%, almost 13% more than at the same time last year.
