ANC relieved at declaration of ‘new dawn’

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The African National Congress (ANC) Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu says the ruling party is relieved at the declaration of a “new dawn” under the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Mthembu has attributed the success and determination of the party to the resolutions that came out of their 54th National Conference held in December in 2017.

Mthembu was speaking at the Big Debate radio and TV show.

He’s emphasised that the ANC supports anything that promotes democracy.

“There were serious deliberations in the ANC particularly in the leadership level where we said we must correct our wrongs. By the way, what we needed to was to deal with ourselves at national leadership. Did we have the political will to deal with those matters we did not have until we went to a 54th conference of the ANC. Indeed everybody is saying today there is a new dawn because we are confronting corruption and manipulation of ANC,” adds Mthembu.
