The Seshego Regional Court in Polokwane, Limpopo, has sentenced a 52-year-old rapist to two years of life imprisonment.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says the accused repeatedly raped his minor stepdaughter between November 2019 and January 2020.
Police say the man was caught red-handed raping the minor in January, three years ago.
Investigations have revealed that the minor had been raped for several months.
Police also say the minor kept the ordeal secret for fear of her life.
Police have welcomed the sentence, saying that it will serve as a deterrent to would-be rapists.
