Reading Time: < 1 minute

Some Gauteng residents should brace themselves for water supply disruptions from Monday to Wednesday.

Several areas of the province will be without water from 5 o’clock tomorrow morning, due to a new system being installed by Rand Water.

Rand Water says they will be installing a new pipe that will increase the amount of water that’s being drawn from the Vaal River into their treatment plant and increase supply to local municipalities.

Water and Sanitation Minister Senzo Mchunu, together with the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Rand Water, will be briefing the media later on Monday to outline contingency plans that will be put in place.

The minister will be together with the chairperson and CEO of Rand Water and also we are intending to have two other heads of the GWS to look at other issues in the media space to look at water availability.”
