Three people, among them two policeman have been shot in an exchange of fire between police and suspects in Emmarentia, north of Johannesburg, on Saturday. This after police responded to a call about a parked car.
Traffic on the main road was affected for several hours.
The suspects fired shots when police approached their vehicle. A shootout ensued with police.
The suspects then fled the the scene, dropping some of their weapons. They later hijacked another vehicle which was found abandoned.
The suspects then hijacked another vehicle, shooting its driver.
The suspects are on the run…
The Police’s Kay Makhubele says: “The suspects fired shots when police approached their vehicle and a shootout ensued. The suspects managed to flee the scene. They also dropped several firearms which were later recovered by police. They later hijacked another vehicle which was found abandoned and are currently still on the run.”
