Ntanzi’s cross examination continues in Meyiwa trial

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The cross-examination of one of the accused in the trial-within-a-trial in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case continues in the High Court in Pretoria today. Bongani Ntanzi has been testifying in a bid to have the confession statements that he and co-accused Muzi Sibiya allegedly made, dismissed.

Five men are on trial for gunning down the soccer star in October 2014. The issue of the disputed legal representative called Ntokozo Mjiyako was the main focus yesterday.

Ntanzi was asked about who paid for Mjiyako’s legal fees.

He replied: “He lied that he was sent by my family and I wanted to know who instructed him to go to all the courts where I was. And that’s why I wanted to open a case against him. And also find find out who was paying him.”

Ntanzi has been accused of fabricating evidence to suit his version of events.
