Reading Time: < 1 minute

The case of a police officer who allegedly gunned down another Joburg Metro police officer has been postponed to the 22nd of next month.

Bongimpilo Bengu allegedly shot and killed Sibusiso Zikalala after an altercation outside a nightclub in Braamfontein in June last year.

The shooting was captured on video and subsequently went viral on social media.

Bengu is currently out on bail.

“The 29-year-old Bengu entered the courtroom clad in a black suit. The matter was postponed to February 22 for the application of disclosure to be done, which might take approximately two to three weeks, and a date for a pre-trial conference was set. This means that required documents will be handed to the magistrate to prescribe any documents that may be considered relevant to the case going to court.”
