Over 90% of the votes have been counted in the Northern Cape. The ANC is gunning for an overwhelming majority in the province, but Political Analyst, Sethulego Matebesi, predicts that the party’s support will likely decline there.

“And that is indicative that not much changes in terms of overall percentages or support that the ANC will get, round about just below 60%. And we should remember the ANC got 64% in 2014 and that is once again definitely a decrease in electoral support. But also, the EFF is consolidating its support in the Northern Cape.”
