Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting in which the seven-year-old boy was fatally wounded at Phiri in Soweto.
It’s alleged that in the early hours of Saturday morning, suspects fired shots at a shack while the boy and three men were asleep.
The three men were wounded and rushed to hospital.
Police have launched a search for suspects. Police spokesperson, Mathapelo Peters, says a case of murder and attempted murder is under investigation.
“A case of murder and attempted murder is being investigated while the motive is yet to be determined. Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation towards the apprehension of the suspects, to urgently report to police at Moroka SAPS.”
