Mamelodi SundownsPercy Tau was the big winner at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) awards on Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old walked away with two main awards as the PSL honoured this season’s top achievers at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The little magician was named Player and Players’ Player of the Season.

Tau enjoyed a stellar season with the newly crowned Absa Premiership champions scoring 11 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions.

He was not the only member of the Mamelodi Sundowns contingent to walk away with an award on the night.

His coach Pitso Mosimane was also named coach of the season.

“Fadlu Davids deserved it; it shows as the chairman [Patrice Motsepe] said it that the local breed is coming up very well … you can see young coaches are coming up very well. Chairman you have one of the special ones that has worked with me, when he said to me the Holy Ghost wants him I understood and I gave him my blessings,” explains Mosimane.

Maritzburg United’s brilliant 2017/18 season, during which they finished fourth on the Absa Premiership log, has not gone unnoticed.

Their young midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu was named both midfielder and young player of the season.

Despite his team finishing yet another season trophyless, Kaizer Chiefs’ shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune was named goalkeeper of the season.
