The DSTV Premiership Champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, will play against Tanzanian side Young Africans in the quarterfinal of the 2024 CAF Champions League.

The winner of the two-legged tie will face either Esperance of Tunisia or Asec Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire in the semi-final.

Sundowns will travel to Tanzania for the first leg of the quarterfinal tie before hosting the Young Africans, also known as Yanga.

The Rhulani Mokwena-led outfit accumulated the highest number of points in the group stage and will be keen to go all the way again this year. Last year, the Brazilians were knocked out in the semi-finals by Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.

Another Tanzanian side, Simba FC, will face Al Ahly of Egypt.

Al Ahly, spearheaded by South Africa’s Percy Tau, are the holder and the most successful club in the competition with 11 titles.

TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo will be at home against Angola’s Petro Atletico de Luanda in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

Tunisia’s Esperance will play against Asec Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire.

The first leg of the quarter-finals is scheduled for the last weekend of this month.
