President Cyril Ramaphosa and visiting US Civil Rights Activist Reverend Jesse Jackson will join an expected 10 000 people in the 33rd Annual Ghandi Walk in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg on Sunday.
The 6 and 12-km fun walk is organised by the Ghandi Walk Committee to promote nation building and good health.
The Committee’s Parbhu Charan explains its significance: “For the last 33 years Ghandi Walk basically carries community empower message and awareness message and this year is all about going green, women and health.”
