Police probe murder of learner at E Cape special school

The Eastern Cape Education Department has appointed a team to investigate the strangling of a learner at the Vukuzenzele Special School in Mbizana.

It’s alleged that the 10-year-old who had disabilities was strangled by fellow scholars aged 11 and 12. The family of the deceased is accusing school management and the department of negligence.

Police spokesperson Ndumiso Junqwana says they are investigating a case of murder and other allegations at the school.

“We have two suspects for the murder at Vukuzenzele special school, the suspects are of 11 to 12-years of age. We are going to take the suspects to social worker together with their parents in order the social workers to compile a report before we take the matter to court.”
