Nurses union Denosa has dismissed as false allegations that the mother of a three-year-old toddler who died at Prophet Paseka Motsoeneng’s church was turned away at the Daveyton clinic on the East Rand.

In a statement read out to journalists, Nontombi Gwam says nurses at the clinic, where she had taken her sickly child on Saturday, told her that they did not have intravenous drips to administer on the child and that she must take the child to another health facility.

Gwam’s child died at Motsoeneng’s Incredible Happenings church in Katlehong on Sunday where Gwam had taken her to be prayed for.

Denosa’s Lebo Khumalo says, “The mother went into the clinic and left the clinic unattended but she was redirected to go into the right room and chose to leave. When Pastor Mboro is saying that the child passed on because of what happened at the clinic, we still do not understand what he is implying because the woman was seen at the clinic, but chose to leave before getting proper medical attention.”
