Chiefs hope to forget about weekend loss

Reading Time: 2 minutes

After a disappointing loss to Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Stellenbosch United in the Nedbank Cup.

Chiefs played the same outfit last year and won 2-0. Coach Steve  Khompela will be hoping to give Chiefs fans something to cheer by winning the tournament.

Khompela says that despite their disappointing loss to Orlando Pirates, his team should pick themselves up and move on.

Kaizer Chiefs have just the Nedbank trophy to look forward to since the league is no longer in their hands. Daniel Cardoso of Chiefs says it is not going to be an easy task winning this tournament. However, after a long three years without silverware, they are looking forward to going as far as possible in the Nedbank Cup.

“We want to go all the way this time it’s the only trophy basically left for us and we want to prove that we can actually win trophies again, it’s been a dry spell for us and we want to go all the way and win this cup,” said Daniel Kaizer Chief’s striker, Daniel Cardoso.

Experienced campaigner Bernard Parker also knows the importance of winning this cup to ease the pressure on Coach Steve Khompela. He believes the experienced guys should do more to help Khompela get his first trophy in his coaching career.

The match will be played at Kaizer Chiefs second home, Moses Mabhida, in Durban on Saturday evening .
