Cape Town motorist nabbed for speeding

A motorist has been arrested for speeding after he was caught driving 187 kilometres per hour on the N2 at Great Brak River near George in the Southern Cape.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says the driver failed to stop at the location where he was caught speeding.

He was however later apprehended in Mosselbay.

Africa says the 30-year-old accused is being kept in custody at the Great Brak Police Station and faces various charges related to speeding.

“The driver of a silver BMW motor vehicle was arrested between George and Mosselbay after he did 187km/h in a 120 zone. He was later kept at the Great Brak Police Station on charges of reckless and negligent driving, exceeding the 120km/h speed limit by doing 187/h – and also he failed to adhere to an instruction by a traffic officer.”
