Former President Jacob Zuma says failure to deal with pressing issues like economic transformation and land re-distribution cannot be blamed on former President Nelson Mandela.
Zuma was delivering a joint Nelson Mandela and Albertina Sisulu memorial lecture held at Mkhuze on the northern KwaZulu-Natal.
The lecture was hosted by the KZN provincial legislature’s Interfaith Symposium.
According to Zuma the tendency by some people who accuse Mandela of having betrayed the struggle during negotiations and made compromises is absurd and blatant lies.
Zuma says the African National Congress (ANC) missed the opportunity then, to use its majority in the National Assemble to address these pressing issues.
