WSU loses law qualification accreditation

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Walter Sisulu University (WSU) has lost its law qualification accreditation.

A shocking report by the Council on Higher Education has revealed that WSU is one of three universities that have been told to respond to concerns over their law accreditation by May 2018.

WSU will not be allowed to register new student at the beginning of the 2019. The others are the University of Limpopo, University of Zululand, and the University of Cape Town.

Professor Rob Midgely at WSU says, “It was a surprise to us that we got some bad news that the Council on Higher Education has withdrawn the accreditation of our LLB Degree and in fact, we have to re-engineer the offerings that we have right now.”
