Wits students cautioned against fake shuttle services bakkie

The Wits University Services Department has issued a warning to all students to be alert and not accept lifts from a vehicle claiming to be shuttle for students transport between their residences and classes.

The department says it has received reports of a white quantum bakkie offering lifts to students claiming to work for the university. The bakkie also has fake university stickers on its windscreen.

Authorities say this is not a University service or vehicle and have urged students to not use the service as it may be dangerous. The vehicle is mostly thought to operate around the Wits Medical School.

***PLEASE NOTE*** There have been reports of a white quantum with fake Wits stickers offering to shuttle students between residences. This is not a University Service or vehicle, please do not accept a lift. Please be alert, especially around Med School.
