Cape Town issues gale force winds alert

Disaster Management in Cape Town has called on the public to be vigilant as windy conditions persist across the Peninsula.

Spokesperson Charlotte Powell says they’ll continue to monitor the weather. She says no damages have been reported thus far.

“The South African Weather Service has advised the Disaster Risk Management Centre that Cape Town can experience gale force winds of about 70 kilometres per hour. The Disaster Risk Management Centre together with other City services will remain on high alert during this period. At this stage no major incidents regarding the gale force winds have been reported.”
