Parts of South Africa has experienced disruptive rain this week as people prepare for the festive season.  SABC Weather gives a forecast of what South Africans can expect on  Christmas Day 2021.

Parts of South Africa experienced disruptive rain this week which may cause flooding, disruption to general traffic and basic services. Certain parts of the country also experienced cloudy weather, widespread showers and thundershowers.

Disaster Management teams have been activated across the North West Province to respond to any eventualities.

This is as heavy rainfalls continue throughout the country.

More than a hundred houses have been destroyed at Lebotloane village in the Moretele local municipality, Bloemhof in the Lekwa Teemane municipality, and Monnakato village in Moses Kotane.

Around Mahikeng, several houses were also flooded, reportedly because of the poor drainage systems.

Meanwhile, Oewer Street in George, in the Western Cape, boasts the largest Christmas lights display in the town.
The street becomes a tourist attraction site in the evenings for both locals and visitors.
