Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha failed to appear before the Pinetown Magistrate's Court in Durban.

A warrant of arrest has been issued for Qqom-queen Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane and her partner Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo.

This is after they failed to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court, west of Durban.

In June, Simelane failed to appear in court over an assault case she brought against her boyfriend Maphumulo after a video went viral on social media.

The pair was referred for mediation to Family and Marriage South Africa during their first court appearance in April.

KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara says police will have to effect the warrant.

“The matter was set down for appearance at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today. Both the accused and the complainant failed to appear for the matter. The magistrate authorised a warrant for their arrest and the SAPS will now have to effect that warrant.”
