The KwaDukuza Magistrates’ Court has postponed the matter of a 45-year-old Ballito mother who allegedly killed her 4-year-old daughter.

The accused mother who has been detained at the uMhlali police cells has now been sent to the Westville prison.

It is alleged that the woman, who may not be identified in terms of an order by the court, tied the girl’s hands and drowned her in a bucket of water last month.

She appeared briefly in court accompanied by her lawyer.

The matter has been adjourned for further investigations and a possible plea to June 9.
