Two people killed in Steenberg shooting

Two people have been killed in a shooting incident in Steenberg outside Cape Town.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twig says two other people were wounded in the incident, which happened last night.

Twigg says the incident is believed to be gang-related.

He says, “According to reports the victims were standing on the corner of St Christopher Avenue and St Alexander Circle in St Montague Village when a silver vehicle drove past them and started shooting at them.”

“The 27 and 44-year-old victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victims were taken to a medical facility for treatment. The motive for the attack is gang-related. The suspects are yet to be arrested.”
