Traffic volumes decrease on Mpumalanga’s major roads

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Traffic volumes have decreased on Mpumalanga’s major roads including the N4, R40 and N11.

Mpumalanga’s Department of Community Safety says most people traveling have already arrived at their destinations. Their focus now will be on enforcing the law in various townships including the curbing of criminal activities and alcohol abuse.

So far, the situation has normalised at Lebombo and Oshoek border posts. For the past three days the borders experienced an influx of vehicles with people crossing over to both Mozambique and Swaziland.

The Department’s Joseph Mabuza says: “Well, today there is less traffic visible on the roads. But our traffic officials are still all out ensuring that people obey the rules of the road.”

“We will now be at the locations making sure that people are behaving. We would like to thank all those who have been obeying the rules of the road.”
