The Cape Town Cycle tour, which brings in about R500 million into the City’s economy has been welcomed by both participants and supporters of the cyclists.
They say they cannot wait to participate or to have a chance at winning the trophy.
The cycle tour around Cape Town’s most scenic routes takes place today.
Some supporters say they are pleased to be back in the Mother City.
One supporter says, “We are enjoying ourselves. Cape Town is beautiful, the weather is beautiful. I think the race is going to be fantastic. We are a big group, we are looking forward to it.”
“It’s nice to be in Cape Town, good to be back away from home for a while. I am not riding myself. I am here to support my girlfriend and her dad, so we are looking forward to it,” another adds.
