A number of those implicated have requested permission from Justice Zondo to question witnesses.

The Commission of Inquiry into State Capture is expected to hear all applications to cross-examine witnesses, when it reconvenes on Thursday.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, who heads the commission, will hear submissions from the legal counsel of those implicated by witnesses who have testified so far.

On Monday, several people implicated in testimonies by former African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament (MP) Vytjie Mentor, former deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas, former GCIS CEO Themba Maseko, and Acting GCIS head Phumla Williams, applied to interrogate those implicating them.
