The International Day of the Girl Child is being commemorated under the theme: “Unscripted and Unstoppable”
The initiative focuses its attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and promotes girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
On the 18th of September 2019, the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) attained Cabinet approval of the national Sanitary Dignity Implementation Framework (SDIF).
The SDIF operationalizes girl’s and women’s call for universal and equitable access to sanitary dignity in the country.
Chief Director for social empowerment and participation from the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Dr. Ntsiki Manzini Matebula spoke to SABC.
