Sixteen people are expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Friday for the alleged murder of a 34-year-old man.
North West police spokesperson Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said they were arrested on October 26, in Kanana near Klerksdorp for allegedly kidnapping two men aged 34 and 50 at their residential places and assaulted them.
“One of the victims was left on a railway line where he died while the other managed to escape. The police were informed about the matter and the accused were traced and arrested,’ she said.
They are facing charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
They appeared for the first court appearance on October 30 and were remanded in custody.
