Security guard injured during cash-in-transit-heist in KwaMashu

The security guards were injured and taken to hospital for medical attention.

Police are on a manhunt for four unknown suspects who allegedly shot and wounded a security officer during a cash-in-transit heist at Bridge City Mall in KwaMashu north of Durban.

Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says the suspects managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

“It is alleged that four suspects armed with firearms attacked the security officer shot and injured him and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and the officer’s firearm. Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of these perpetrators is requested to contact the SAPS crime stop number at 0860010111. All information received will be treated with confidentiality.”
