Search for Boksburg heist suspects continues

Police gave chase which ended up at George Goch hostel south of Johannesburg.

Police are appealing to communities to help them track the remaining suspects involved in Thursday’s daring cash in transit heist in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg.

A group of more than 10 suspects bombed two cash vans before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Five suspects have so far been arrested after a high speed chase that ended up at the George Gogh hostel south of Johannesburg.

Some of the cash, three firearms and a getaway vehicles were recovered.

Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says: “As the police we have launched a manhunt for the suspects that are still at large.”

“We are appealing to the community to help us arrest the remaining suspects. Please come forward or call the nearest police station or crime stop number 08600 10111,” says Masondo.
