The SABC appeared before Parliament's Communication Committee to brief it about its second quarterly financial report.

SABC Board Chairperson Bongumusa Makhatini says allegations that some Board members are involved in an irregular security tender at the public broadcaster, are being investigated.

Makhatini was answering questions raised by Parliament’s Communications Committee when the SABC board and management appeared to present the corporation’s quarterly financial report.

“The first issue I want to address about the security tender. We are aware of the allegations and we are taking action to get them thoroughly investigated. So, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is assisting us in investigating those allegations, so the matter is being attended to and we will brief you with further details on the matter,” adds Makhatini.
