SA warned against COVID-19 complacency

Earlier the NICD has warned against complacency regarding the COVID-19 virus, adding that while transmission continues, as shown by the daily release of statistics, South Africa has clearly exited the fourth wave of the virus that was driven by the Omicron variant.
Statistics show that Gauteng continues to record the highest number of cases, followed by the Western Cape, Limpopo, and KwaZulu-Natal provinces.

The Institute’s Professor Adrian Puren has encouraged people to remain vigilant and continue to respect protocols like mask-wearing in public.
