A 13-year-old girl has been critically injured by two pit bulls in Sydenham, Durban.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the girl was walking on the side of the road when she was attacked by the dogs.
Gwala says one dog was killed at the scene and they are looking for the second dog.
“Two pit bulls attacked a 13-year-old girl who was walking on Stanley Cooper Drive in Sydenham and she sustained a head and face injuries. She was rushed to hospital for medical attention. One dog was killed at the scene while the other fled the scene. A case of keeping a ferocious dog has been opened at the Sydenham Police Station,” explains Gwala.
