NRFP promises to improve lives in rural areas

The National Religious Freedom Party (NRFP) president Wilson Ngcobo says they want to improve the lives of people in rural areas.

The party was conducting its final election campaign in Umlazi, south of Durban, to try and woo undecided voters.

Ngcobo says they will work tirelessly to deliver basic services to the people.

“And we are here today to come and talk to them because we heard the information that after these recent floods they didn’t get help from the municipality, because they are not members of the ANC – so they are told.

“In fact we want to work tirelessly trying by all means that what people are getting in town, in villages rural people are also receiving those services like clinics and roads,” Ngcobo adds.

Meanwhile some Umlazi community remained indoors and showed no interest in the party’s campaign. Others say they want proper housing and jobs.

“We don’t have proper roads. We don’t have houses and we are not employed. Ngcobo at least gave us employment so we get those temporary jobs at least. All we’re asking for is to have houses built for us here and not have our shacks demolished. We have been abused enough in this place,” a resident explains.
