Mpofu defends Julius Malema’s “racist” comments

EFF National Chairperson and lawyer Dali Mpofu has come out in defence of the party’s leader Julius Malema over his comments that Indian people are racist.

Malema was addressing a Youth Day rally in North West last weekend when he made the remarks.

He has since faced huge criticism from rights organisations, political parties and commentators.

Speaking in an interview with the SABC, Mpofu says there is evidence to justify Malema’s remarks.

“All of these so-called commentators who are supposed to be learned people are asking us where the evidence is and we say that’s a stupid question. All they have to do is phone the IEC and see the voting statistics in any Indian community in SA. They will see that all those communities support racist parties. The majority of Indians are racist. A former judge of the ConCourt says more than a majority, 90% are racist, and he lives in that community. Why are you not asking him of attacking Indians. That alone is racist,” says Mpofu.
